Sunday Worship is at 10:00 a.m.and everyone is welcome!
Join us for in-person worship or our Livestream every Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
Below you will find some information that may be helpful should you consider joining us for worship.
Our greeters are at the sanctuary doors before the start of each service. Greeters welcome members, friends, and visitors alike and set the stage to make your worship time a positive experience.
Our ushers will assist you once you enter the sanctuary for Sunday worship. They will provide you with an “order of worship” bulletin. Also, if you need any type of assistance before, during, or after a worship service, please contact an usher, who will be identified with an “usher” nametag.
If there is any type of building emergency on a Sunday, such as a tornado warning and/or a fire, the ushers have been trained in guiding the parishioners to safety.
If you are interested in becoming an usher or a greeter, please call the church office at 815-459-5096, or email the church here.
The worship sanctuary is equipped with a hearing assistance system for the hard of hearing. Please see an usher for any help you may need.
What should I expect when I arrive?
As you walk into the sanctuary, you will receive a bulletin that describes the order of worship for that Sunday. Contact the Usher if you need a larger print of the worship bulletin.
Where do I sit in the sanctuary?
Anywhere you like; ushers are available to help guide you.
What can I expect during worship?
The order of service is outlined in the bulletin for each week and includes time for prayer and music as well as a scripture reading and a message from the Pastor. Worship services usually last around one hour.
Do I have to do anything?
Guests are never singled out during worship and are not asked to wear name tags. We are happy you stopped by.
Is there music in your service?
Yes. We sing hymns that are both traditional and contemporary. We offer music from September through May from the St. Paul’s musical groups: the Adult Choir, Bells of Praise, and St. Paul’s Brass. In the summer months, special music is provided each Sunday by various St. Paul’s members.
Do you serve Communion?
Yes, we serve Communion on the first Sunday of each month, during worship. St. Paul’s observes an open table and the Sacrament of Communion is open to all Christians.
Is there a dress code?
No - there is no dress code. Just come comfortable.
Do you have anything for my children during worship?
Yes. We have “children’s activity bags” that an usher can give you to use for your children during the service. These bags contain books, stuffed animals, coloring pages, and crayons.
Do you offer childcare during worship?
Yes. We offer a nursery, with a dedicated staff to care for your child(ren) while you worship. The nursery is located on the same floor as the sanctuary. An usher can help guide you.
What about Sunday School?
From September through May, 10:30-11:30 A.M., St. Paul’s offers Christian Education for babies 6 months old to teens in high school. At 10:30, children attend church with their parents for the first 15 minutes. After the opening musical section, teachers escort the children to the age-appropriate classroom. After the worship service, parents can pick up their children from their classroom.
When you arrive, if the upper parking lot is full, please use our driveway to the right of the building as there is much more parking in the rear of our church and also an entrance for you to use.
We also have an elevator for those who find this more comfortable should you park in our rear parking Lot.
What happens after worship?
Following our 10:00 am worship, St. Paul’s offers a time of coffee, juice, breakfast treats, and fellowship. It’s a great opportunity to meet some of the members and other visitors.
Is there any way to watch the service online?
We offer a live stream video of the worship service available every Sunday. Pastor Sunday Messages (and past messages) are also available on our website.
Any other questions?
We’d love to connect with you and answer any questions that you have before your first visit with us. Drop us a note and we’d be happy to answer your questions. If you have questions once you arrive, you can contact one of our ushers. You can also contact the church office or pastor here.
During each worship service, the children of the congregation are invited to come up to the front of the sanctuary and hear a Children’s Sermon, given by one of our members. The message the children hear often coincides with the message that the Pastor will give during his sermon.
St. Paul’s is blessed to have many talented musicians as a part of our congregation. If you are interested in becoming a part of any of the groups listed below, please contact the church office.
Music Leader - Kristin Lundine Scheets, our excellent pianist and organist, leads the musical portion playing our service hymns for the congregation to use their vocal talents.
The Adult Choir performs on the first Sunday of every month, during the worship services, from September through May. Rehearsal is on Wednesdays from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.; the choir does not rehearse over the summer. Those in the choir range from high school age to adults.
The Bells of Praise, our great handbell ensemble, provides music for worship on the third Sunday of the month; rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
The Brass Quintet provides beautiful music on the fourth Sunday of every month.
The Praise Team provides contemporary Christian music for worship on the second Sunday of the month once a quarter, currently scheduled for November, February, May, and August.
