We're proud to serve our community!
Whether it's walking with the CROP Walk for Hunger or joining a group at St. Paul's providing community outreach, below is a list of the ways in which we strive to serve our community.
We've included links and details if you'd like to get involved!
St. Paul’s UCC, one of the original founding churches of the Food Pantry, along now with 20 other area churches, support the mission of the Crystal Lake Food Pantry: that no one should go hungry. Once every month, St. Paul’s members volunteer at the Crystal Lake Food Pantry by distributing food to those in need. They also help weekly to unload a shipment of food from the Northern Illinois Food Bank and area stores that also provide food supplies. Church members support and work at annual food drives, such as Community Harvest, the Boy Scout Food Drive, and the Post Office Food Drive to serve our community members.
Our church’s representatives to the Food Pantry are Bill Eich and Cheryll Triefenbach.

The Crystal Lake Area CROP Hunger Walk is a public fundraiser for CWS and is a community event. Local churches and businesses can form teams of walkers. The walkers then ask for donations for their individual participation.
St. Paul’s UCC has been a participant for 29 years. CROP Hunger Walk is an initiative of Church World Service and is scheduled to run in the Fall. 25% of the funds raised are returned to our community.
We’d love it if you walked with us this year! The walk is held on a TBD Sunday afternoon in the fall and takes place at a church within our community. We will begin promoting the event in September.
St. PauL’s is in partnership with Crystal Lake’s North Elementary School to mentor at-risk children through the Kid’s Hope USA Program. We currently have six members who participate in one-on-one mentoring, for one hour each week.
